The Vocalist Magazine PRESENTS - Episode 4 LES POULES A COLIN
25m
This episode will introduce traditional music band, Les Poules A Colin, from where they started, to where they are now and where they hope to be in the future. This episode will also detail how their musical families influenced their music style, how they work together as a team and their biggest accomplishments as musicians. “Winners of the Young Tradition competition in Burlington, Vermont (2009) and Prix de la Culture Desjardins in Québec (2010), the five members of « the latest and youngest band out of the hot Québécois traditional music scene » are inspired by roots music passed down from their families and learned at music camps and in jams. Their performances are entrancing and sparkle with unpretentious, natural talent and respect for their repertoire – including beautifully arranged original and folk-traditional songs and tunes (both French and English). As the offspring of veteran traditional musicians, they have grown up with and learned their craft firsthand from some of Québec’s finest in a region famous for its traditions. (Source: www.lespoulesacolin.com) Les Poules a Colin released their debut album Ste Waves last year, incorporating both English and French into their music. They bring modernity to traditional folk sound while still sticking to traditional roots. The group of friends came together through their musical families and connection. They are now inseparable.
